South of Forres, a contemporary take on the tourist craft shop: browse and enjoy an art gallery, bookshop and various scottish crafts as well as their excellent tearoom Olive Tree Cafe.
Originally built as a model farm in the 1920's, Logie Steading has now been converted to welcome visitors to the tranquil Findhorn Valley, near the well-known walks at Randolph's Leap.
Specialising in promoting Scottish craftsmanship and produce, Logie Steading makes an interesting day out for individuals or groups, with a wide variety of things to see and enjoy; from fashion textiles to country antiques, paintings and jewellery to secondhand books, prime Longhorn beef to hardy plants, there is something for everyone, not forgetting the acclaimed café where all the delicious food is cooked on site.
The gardens of Logie House will be open again in spring 2012; the playground and the spectacular walk along the River Findhorn are open every day.
The businesses at Logie Steading do their best to be open every day from the end of March to Christmas, from 10.30am to 5.00pm., although the Farm and Garden is seasonal and closes at the end of October - just as the perennial plants all retreat underground in their pots! Each business is individually run so, if there is one you particularly want to visit do please contact them before making a special journey.
