Fyvie Castle
In the village of Fyvie, Aberdeenshire. 13th Century Castle. This has featured in many Television programmes including Most Haunted.
Built in the early 1300's, this Aberdeenshire Castle is home to a vast collection of painting, armour and arms. It was first built as early as 1211 although what you see now is the result of successive additions as different families owned. Indeed every tower built by a new family. There was a battle nearby during the Covenant War in the 1640s. Like many houses, during the Victorian era, there was substantial landscaping done following the fashion for grand gardens. It was finally sold to the state in 1984 and is now open to the public.
You can visit the picturesque Loch or visit the excellent Tennis Court, restored in recent times.
Featuring Many Medieval stones with stunning Edwardian enteriors, this castle has had many Royal Guests including Robert the Bruce, Charles 1 and Edward 1.

By bus: Fyvie Village is accesible via Stagecoach Bluebird, the village is only a mile from the Castle.
