Aros Castle
Ruined 13th century castle near Salen on the East coast of Mull in ruinous and dangerous state on headland.
also known as Dounarwyse Castle.
Originally a McDougall clan castle but passed through macDonald and Campbell hands until it fell into disuse around 1600s. Would have been very dedensible but was properly never especially important.
Opening Times
Open all the time and features some hidden drops and generally dangerous without watching where you step. Lovely place to site beside the sea.
