The landscape in the park and surrounding area is breathtaking with moorlands stretching for miles, grand glens, large forests, lochs and rivers all home to a wide variety of birds, animals and plants, including red deer and golden eagles.
There is an extensive breadth of leisure choice with three ski centres, numerous golf courses, fishing, watersports, horse riding, cycling, walking and climbing. Cairngorm Funicular Railway is the highest mountain railway journey in the UK, offering spectacular views of the ancient Scottish mountain landscape from the viewing station at the top.
Visit the polar bear at Kincraig Highland Wildlife Park or sit back and enjoy the stunning waltzing waters at Newtonmore. For the whisky lover the famous Strathspey Whisky Trail with six working distilleries is on your doorstep and Landmark Park at Carrbridge offers a great day out for all ages. Inverness, the highland capital, Loch Ness and Fort William are easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
