Birnam
Small village opposite Dunkeld on the river Tay - shares the same station. Most people don't even realise they are separate!
Birnam is mainly residential and relies on Dunkeld a walk away for excitement, shopping and activity. Not to say that inhabitants are not very clear they live in Birnam and not Dunkeld. For the casual visitor, the only difference is which side of the river they are on.
The village's main claim to fame is the most famous resident - Beatrix Potter who has a museum in the village as part of Birnam Arts Centre.
