A great location for exploring Dunkeld, less than a mile’s stroll away with its historic cathedral and riverside walks. The surrounding Perthshire countryside is a walker’s paradise and ideal for exploring by foot on one of the many marked walks, or by car to many towns in the area. Pitlochry with its famous theatre, 14 miles. Perth, 15 miles. RSPB reserve 5 miles. Train station 300 yards. Shops, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

4th comment: Choosing to stay at Carter’s Lodge it was a very good move. Though at the beginning I was worried that being located near a train station, i thought it will be noisy but I haven’t heard a train throughout our stay, (4 nights). Also not only it is located within few miles radius of great tourist attractions but the attention to every detail and the comfort provided were 10 out of 10. Local shops and restaurants are within 7 minutes walking. Very pleased and definitely we will use it again when back in Scotland. July 2011.
