Privately situated on the edge of the village of Newcastleton and backed by woodland, this spacious holiday property is decorated and furnished in a light, contemporary style and is equipped for disabled access, families and moutain bikers alike. Good walking in the surrounding hills and forests. In easy reach are the Seven Stanes mountain bike route, Kielder Water and Forest Park with a wide range of activities and spectacular scenery. Hermitage Castle, 5 miles, is a startling reminder of the area’s violent past. Carlisle, 25 minutes’ drive. Shops and pubs 350 yards.

13th Comment The description of the accommodation online was excellent and all of the information and pictures secured the booking. In particular, I was delighted with the hoist for the bath. The cottage was equipped so well that there was nothing lacking for an enjoyable holiday for all visitors. We would book the cottage at a later date without hesitation. March 2008.
14th Comment Accommodation 5 star. From the fully equipped kitchen to little touches in bathrooms and bedrooms, everything has been thought of for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. Garden beautiful, so nice and peaceful to sit in. Owners very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Village folks just as friendly, local hotels provide excellent meals at reasonable prices. Woodside and Newcastleton have become our home away from home. Perfect chill out place. Can go for quiet walks or visit one of the many places of interest within easy distance. Aug 2008.
