Chauffeur's Cottage, nr Gretna Green - Sleeps 4

1st comment: We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and this is one of the best. The cottage was very clean and refurbished to a high standard, with everything you need to make it a home from home. Located in the beautiful grounds of springkell it was very peaceful and we enjoyed long walks with the dog. June 2012.

2nd comment: Chauffeur’s Cottage was lovely - beautiful decor and furnishings, and very comfortable, with new appliances etc. The surrounding estate is in need of some work, especially the long driveway, as it was full of potholes. However, this was not a problem really, although due to the very wet weather there were lots of muddy puddles! Plenty of places nearby worth visiting, although we stayed here mainly to be handy for visiting family. Nov 2011.

3rd comment: Chauffeurs Cottage is spacious, tastefully decorated and fully equipped with everything you could need. The location is great too - very peaceful and set within beautiful grounds. I would thoroughly recommend it. Oct 2011.

4th comment: Quiet out of the way location, good quality well equipped fixtures and fittings, great log fire. Great for Dog walking and exploring. Nothing was too much trouble for Billy. Only negative no Internet. Oct 2011.

5th comment: The cottage was excellent and the refurbishment was to a very high standard. I would certainly recommend a stay and hopefully will revisit in the future. 100%. Sept 2011.

6th comment: The cottage was beautifully presented with top class fixtures, fittings and furniture to match the high standard sympathetic renovation. The little finishing touches too made the place feel very homely. One tip we would give to the owner though is to make the garden area a little bit more secure, so that dogs wouldn’t be able to get through the fencing to chase birds, squirrels and other wildlife. Even some chicken wire attached to the existing fence and gate would stop small and medium size dogs getting who are prone to chasing through! Sept 2011.

7th comment: I thought twice about leaving a comment, simply because I want this location and property to be a closely guarded secret. In fact, to submit any other comment would only be an understatement. I have had many holidays around the United Kingdom but this particular holiday exceeded all expectations. The cottage, environment, staff, hospitality and everything else was simply superb. If you are looking for 5-star accommodation, incredible surroundings and a chill-out break .. this is it. Nestled on a private estate is a very modern, exceptionally located and well decorated cottage with all the mod-cons. The property invites you to explore, explore, explore ... only a few miles away are the larger shops (Tesco) for supplies ... and then further on are the hidden beaches. Would I suggest you go and take advantage of this location? .. absolutely ’Yes’. Aug 2011.
