Island Snug, Isle of Cumbrae - sleeps 2-3
Situated on the Isle of Cumbrae, this second floor holiday apartment has stunning views over the sea. It lies just a few minutes’ walk to a beautiful sandy beach with tropical palms fronting the promenade and yachts moored out in the sheltered bay. From here you can explore the charm of a seaside town with shops, bars and restaurants. Millport is also the home of Europe’s smallest cathedral and Britain’s narrowest house. Cumbrae is a haven for wildlife, a colony of seals live in the bay and it attracts migrant birds from around the world. A quiet coastal road meanders around the island and is popular with walkers and cyclists and gives access to natural unspoilt beaches. Footpaths across the hills in the centre of the island provide rural walks and fantastic, panoramic views across the sea to Isle of Arran, Isle of Bute and the Mull of Kintyre. There is a good local bus link between the ferry and the holiday properties. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
All on second floor: Living room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with additional Z-bed and en-suite shower room with toilet.
Woodburner in living room (initial fuel inc). Elec heaters (in bedroom and bathroom), elec, bed linen and towels inc. T/cot. H/chair. Freesat TV. DVD and small library. CD. Elec cooker. M/wave. Customer Reviews of Island Snug, Isle of Cumbrae - sleeps 2-3
1st comment: Island Snug was cute, compact, characterful and cosy. I loved the attention to detail: tartan carpet, stag’s head brackets, anchor hooks and fish shaped plates in the kitchen. It was absolutely yummy. There’s everything you need for cooking, eating and relaxing. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was refreshingly modern. Millport had the air of a seaside town with a grand history but now down on its luck-mmmm! I loved it. Great beach walks and woodland walks too-nothing too taxing- 3 or 4 miles and you’re at the other side and it’s time to turn back. Great butcher, adequate small supermarket and reasonable cafes. Feb 2012.
2nd comment: Property in a good location near the shops and beach. Great views from the window across to the mainland clean and with everything you need, ideal for a couple and the dog liked it aswell. Close to bike hire shops which is a pleasent ride around the island. Aug 2011.
3rd comment: Island snug is a welcome break from the stressful city it has everything you may need from a tin opener to hair straighteners , it is very clean and the locals are very friendly (a good battery charge). June 2011.
4th comment: Nice hideaway. Excellent view over the water. Very clean. Owners very helpful. Nice relaxing time. May 2011.
5th comment: Island Snug has everything you need for an enjoyable break. Great location and all the comforts of home. May 2011.
6th comment: Great little flat, ideal for 2, situated a very short walk from the main street, shops, pubs, cafes and beach of Millport. We loved Millport...a lovely island getaway where we could abandon the car for 5 days and just walk every where. There are some lovely walks, around the coast and across the hills, all clearly signposted. If you get a rainy day, leave the car on the island and take the ferry back over to Largs, good for shopping and indoor entertainments when the weather is less than perfect! We would highly recommend Island Snug apartment and Millport. March 2011.
