Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust for Scotland) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction. Remodelled by the Scottish architrct Robert Adam, it houses a small exhibition displaying President Eisenhower’s military civilian and military career and his association with Culzean. Craft shows, country dancing and walks spotting fungi are attractions hosted during the year. Customer Reviews of Harbour View Luxury House, Maidens, sleeps 8
st comment: Luxurious finish to the property - local shop well stocked for forgotten items - local restaurant a must (best to book). Jan 2012.
nd comment: A beautiful property, well equipped, modern and comfortable, great for a large family or relaxing with friends. Ideal for kids, cupboard full of books and toys, enclosed garden with 2 tree swings, small play park across road as well as harbour and sandy beach 5 mins walk away. Culzean Castle 15 min walk along the beach. (beware if bringing toddlers as no stair gate, staircase accessible from open plan living room). Dec 2011.
rd comment: Very clean and comfortable house. A home from home. Will be booking for next year. Just a stones through away from Wildings Restaurant which offers excellent value for money especially at lunchtime. This property was a great find and I am sure we will be using it year after year. Nov 2011.
th comment: Excellent accommodation in a lovely spot close to harbour & beach. Not a lot to do in village & not a lot of amenities, god local shop & restaurant but no pub, you can only drink in the restaurant if you are eating, so nothing to do on an evening. Sept 2011.
th comment: An absolutely beautiful house! Location very good, handy for the local restaurant. Village very quiet and peaceful. Good general store for basic items. July 2011.
th comment: Maidens is a lovely and very quiet place. Only one shop, no pub in the village and only one restaurant The Wildings which served very good food but will not serve the general public drinks unless you are dining there. The property was excellent, clean and modern with beautiful views. Good parking. April 2011.
th comment: Had a fab time, value for money was great. We loved the location of the house - so handy for Ayr and also for Girvan. We will certainly return, as we had such a brill time, the garden was great as it was enclosed and having young children made it so safe to let them play out. March 2011.
th comment: It was comfortable for our party of seven people and the kitchen was well-equipped. July 2010.
th comment: Great access to sea front. Large and spacious. Nice garden at the back. Lovely property. May 2010.
th comment: The house is tastefully decorated and very modern. It is a large family house ideal for families. We found it suitable to us simply because of the golf in that area. The beaches are clean and minutes walk. There are a couple of eating places such as Wildings and Souter Johnnies, although there is no pub. A shop is minutes walk selling essentials. You can find a large Morrisons in Ayre and an Asda in Girvan. April 2010.
