The imposing Edwardian mansion and associated outbuildings have been converted into 20 holiday apartments with a shared indoor heated swimming pool and enclosed children’s play area. The Lodge House is perfect for family gatherings or groups of friends whatever the season with a generous and sociable open plan living area and sunny conservatory. Nearby there are several excellent golf courses to choose from, particularly good value with the Freedom of the Fairways passport; ancient Abbeys and historic houses to visit; cycling locally on quiet roads, or at Glentress to get the adrenalin flowing on downhill courses, graded for all abilities; fishing on the Tweed or Teviot by local permit; lovely walks, whether you want a stroll along the river or more strenuous hike in the Cheviots; shops specialising in local produce and a good variety of pubs and restaurants for eating out within 15 mins drive. Edinburgh, only an hour away, makes a memorable day out. Shop and pub 2 miles.
