Customer Reviews of Red Kite,nr. Dalbeattie, sleeps 4
st comment: We had a fabulous week, we were most comfortable in the cottage, as was the dog. We had everything which we needed and the surrounding countryside was great, a nearby beach, lake and forest made it a great walking holiday, we would definitely go back to this accommodation. March 2012.
nd comment: It’s one of many chalets in a holiday village in a very peaceful and scenic location. Rather remote as the next nearest shop is about 2 miles away. It was a shame that the little shop across the village was closed for the winter. The only complaint is that the heating came on only from 0710 - rather late for early risers. Feb 2012.
rd comment: Beautiful cabin in serene settings worth the money. The cabin felt like home away from home. Dec 2011.
th comment: Would highly recommend this property as it was more than we could have hoped for, felt totally magical with the location and the accomodation. Was welcomed with a homemade chocolate cake and tea and coffee, every room cleaned to the highest standards and very cosy. Was beautiful waking up and seeing the sunrise from the balcony looking over the lake and the hills. Place was swarming with wildlife including deer, rabbits, squirrels, swans and more. The local bar/restaraunt done amazing food and i would highly recommend the breaded bree. Was a completely stress free romantic getaway, all your worries completely disolve. I will be booking again soon for next year. Dec 2011.
th comment: Red Kite was a lovely timber lodge set in a very quiet holiday village, if you like peace and quiet then this is the place for you, it is pet friendly and is great for dog walks. The area around red kite is stunning the walk from Sandyhills to Rockcliff is 4 miles but well worth doing, Dallbeatie is a short drive and has a butcher who has the best Rib Eye steaks we have had. Dumfries is about 18 miles but is much bigger than we thought - you can spend a whole day there. We will be going back to Red Kite in June as we loved it. Oct 2011.
th comment: Our holiday couldn’t have been any better..i’d thoroughly (and have done since returning) recommend Red Kite Barend to anyone it’s such a great location, clean, beautiful setting & the people we met were all so friendly. June 2011.
th comment: Excellent accommodation, location, scenery, eating out, wildlife. June 2010.
th comment: The property was easy to find and first encounter was exciting. May 2010.
th comment: I found everything about the accommodation satisfactory and the welcoming chocolate cake was a nice touch. The big surprise to us was that we were virtually unaware of other people in the holiday village. We have always avoided sites like Barend like the plague but were very pleasantly surprised and would certainly go back - and not only as a last resort! April 2010.
th comment: Quality kitchen & accessories together with quality beds & bedding. All fixtures & fittings were excellent. An excellent venue, very relaxed and quiet. Feb 2010.
th Comment Lovely setting, ideal space and equipment. Aug 2009.
th Comment Weather was lovely all weekend. The property was fantastic very clean and homely. Will definitely be booking again soon! March 2009.
th Comment It was a perfect holiday as it was still winter and we had the perfect accommodation of a warm lodge and well equipped lodge. It was fantastic having 2 living areas, 1 upstairs which the children used and 1 down by the kitchen was an adult zone! We couldn’t have wished for a better lodge to stay in!!! Feb 2008.
th Comment The holiday was brilliant. Nothing could be faulted (except for the wet weather towards the end of the week). June 2007.
th Comment Lovely property with all we needed for a self catering holiday. Horse riding for the granddaughter, fishing for the grandson and beach for them both. Lots of places of interest in the area. Aug 2007.
