Customer Reviews of Port Drishaig House, Tighnabruaich - Sleeps 5
1st comment: Short walk to the pier where sea fishing and boat trips can be enjoyed. Book well in advance if wanting to go on Donalds boat trips of dc marine. The trip on the waverly paddle steamer (double check departure days some guides say tuesday on our trip it was wednesday), was magical and well worth the £25 fare. As a 47 year old I became an excited 10 year old dashing to marvel at the sights, sounds and smells of the engine room and the sea views of Loch Fyne alternately. The ferry to Bute is affordable by car, and the victorian toilets in Rothesay on the front are believe it or not worth a visit, even if you don’t have to pay a visit. The coastal route into Tighnabruich has nice views but undulates and may cause travel sickness and car bottoming if not taken slowly, by far the more scenic and comfortable is the high road in with spectacular views of the Kyles of Bute. Two forty somethings, a fifteen year old and a twenty year old had a great four night holiday. Serene is the word I would use to describe Tighnabruich or maybe just simply Awesome if tranquility is your thing. Steep stairs to the property would spoil this holiday for bad climbers and it’s a non starter for wheelchair users. Aug 2011.
2nd comment: Excellent view over sea. July 2010.
3rd comment: Liked location and facilities were adequate (as expected). Aug 2009.
