Customer Reviews of Newtonmore Cottage, Cairngorms - Sleeps 3

"Fantastic home from Home!"

The house is small but perfectly formed, with eveything that you need, washing machine, dishwasher, clothes horse, etc. The decor is lovely and up to date, it has a secure garden which is a bonus, if like us you have a dog. We saw three red squirrels on the first morning of our stay, and at least one everyday after that! It is an ideal location for the Highland Folk Museum which is just across the road, Newtonmore Riding Centre, for pony trekking and don't forget the Wildcat Experience which is a must, it is also close to watersports, and plenty of cycling and walking routes. The Glen Hotel does a lovely bar meal, would recommend booking first though. The welcome info might need updated though as there was no recycling centre at Glen Road carpark, the previous tennent had left glass in the recycling bin, so it did not get collected while we we there, maybe due to this. The kitchen could do with a baking sheet or two, and a knife sharpener, but these are just trivial points. I would recomend this proprty to friends, and also book it again. We had a lovely time here.

"comfortable, clean, modern and very peaceful"

This is a very modern clean and comfortable cottage set in a peaceful location. Plenty of birds and red squirrels visit on a daily basis looking for their breakfast. Newtonmore itself has plenty to do, all within easy walking distace - The Highland folk museum, The Macpherson museum( Both of which are free entry) and beautiful walks up the back of the town where if you go at dusk, you can see herds of deer. This is a lovely place to take dogs. There is also a competition to find as many large scottish wild cats, which are hidden in gardens etc all over the town - great fun for the kids. All in all this is a great cottage in a great location. Would definately go back. Frances - Fife.
