River Cottage, Fort Augustus - Sleeps 4
This beautifully presented, detached holiday property is situated in the popular village of Fort Augustus overlooking the waters of the River Oich. There are mountain bike and forest trails on the doorstep, and the Caledonian Canal with beautiful scenery is only a minute’s walk. Pleasurable boat trips are available on nearby Loch Ness - a great chance to spot the Loch Ness Monster - or Great Glen offers wonderful climbing and walking. Urquhart Castle and the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition in Drumnadrochit are on the way to Inverness, and are well worth a visit. Shops 20 yards.
Step to entrance. Hall with doors to conservatory. Living room with open fire and doors to further conservatory. Compact dining room. Modern fitted kitchen with ceramic-tiled floor. Open-sided stairs to first floor: Two double bedrooms, (one 6ft bed). Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Level access to either floor externally.

The location was perfect for taking a coffee up to watch the boats go through the canal and then sitting in complete privacy at the side of the river. The best cottage we’ve ever stayed in! May 2010.
