This spacious detached house dating to the late 1800s is situated on the edge of the pretty village of Whithorn and 3 miles from the first of many sandy beaches, with open uninterrupted views across the countryside from the rear. Explore the Galloway Hills with their many hidden lochs, burns and waterfalls, and the beautiful Solway coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages.
This is an ideal base from which to explore the breathtaking scenery and areas of outstanding natural beauty, wilderness and romance. South west Scotland boasts an exceptional number of absorbing activities, whatever you’re after from spending a quiet afternoon with a rod and reel beside one of the area’s many excellent rivers, or pushing yourself to the limit along a challenging 7 Stanes cycle track.
Horse riding, golf, sailing, diving and numerous walks are available in the area and with its famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, Galloway is home to some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens.

3rd comment: This is an exceptional, most unusual property that was recently a hotel. Accordingly, the equipment is fantastic, the rooms, stairways, corridors a fascinating maze and we had a great time. July 2011.
4th comment: Big, spacious house, great for large parties of people. Big, warm comfy bedrooms, big commercial kitchen made cooking and cleaning for a large group easy. Kitchen and dining room cold but owners thoughtfully left extra heaters which helped make it cosy. Lovely area. Dec 2010.
