Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within the Cairngorm National Park

Situated in 2 acres at the edge of the Abernethy pine forest is this traditional granite built family holiday home with open fires as well as central heating. Abundant wildlife. Aviemore 12 miles. Osprey centre/RSPB, 4 miles. Ideal for rambling, fishing on the River Spey, birdwatching and the Cairngorm Mountains for climbing and ski-ing. Grantown-on-Spey, 6 miles. Golf course 100 yards, or there is a championship golf course in Nairn where you will also find sandy beaches. In the surrounding area follow the whisky trail to a number of distilleries, or visit one of the many historic houses on offer. Cawdor and Brodie Castles well worth a visit. Pub serving good food nearby. Shop 250 yards.

1st comment: Excellent cottage for a family holiday. Very well equipped and in a fabulous locations. Enjoyed the red squirrels on the bird table. Will definitely go back. May 2011. 2nd comment: A great house in a very lovely area. Fantastic and varied things to do every day - not just for the outdoor persuit lover although if nature and the outdoors is your dream then this is the place for you. Red squrrels and roe deer in the garden, golden eagles and osprey flying past on a gentle walk to the steam railway from the house. I’m sorry but I don’t think many other areas in the UK get close to this. April 2011. 3rd comment: Ideal accommodation, very well equipped, lovely location, perfect for the six of us. July 2010. 4th comment: This property far exceeded our expectations, both in location and comfort- the photos on the website really didn’t do it justice. Dec 2009. 5th comment: Spacious and secluded but not far from local facilities. Sept 200-9. 6th comment: Lots to do in the area, excellent fishing, golf and adventure activities. It is the Cairngorms, so if the weather is poor it should not be too much of a surprise and does not need to spoil a holiday. The wildlife in the area was fantastic. July 2009. 7th comment: Great central base. Good size house....excellent value. March 2009. 8th comment: This was the 3rd time that we have stopped at this house and as normal it was perfect in every way and yes we will be back in 2010. Dec 2008. 11th Comment The property was beautiful, as was the location and the resident red squirrels! It exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend staying at the property. March 2008. 13th Comment The cottage was beautiful and very well equipped. It was lovely to watch the wildlife from the patio window and there were plenty of walks right from the front door! July 2007. 14th Comment First time at this house, but was a fantastic place to stop, try it you will not be disappointed.
