Dalmally
Dalmally (meaning Pebbled Valley) is a small village located in Argyll and Bute along the Strath of Orchy just two miles from Loch Awe in Scotland. It boasts beautiful cottages and shops in and around the village. During spring season the place is full of crocuses, daffodils and narcissi making the village an oasis of colour after the darker tones of winter. The location is excellent for Oban and mid Argyll
The old church situated along the east side of Dalmally was built in 1800s it holds an octagonal tower which is unique feature of this ancient church. Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the Glen Orchy and Ben Cruachin.
Dalmally railway station has frequent trains connecting Glasgow and Oban. The gorgeous and deserted highland village of Barr a Chasteilean which is accessible down a forest path and gives some sense of what a highland village might have been like before it was abandoned in 1948 (see more details here)
