Kinlochaline Castle

15th century rectangular keep that has been restored into a family home built over 12th century fortress

Like most Scottish castles, this one has been sacked and rebuilt a number of times before a final proper restoration was undertaken in the 1990s o make it a proper family house. You cannot visit inside but you can see it rising spendidly from the landscape as you drive past or across the loch.
