Dunbeath Castle
Originally a seat of Sinclair Clan and now inhabited. 19th century extensions to 17th century original.
The castle sits on a dramatic position overlooking the sea and is a comnbination of different periods all combined into a typical 19th century confection. The house is well-restored and not open to visitors.
You can visit the David Bryce designed gardens by appointment. They pretty spectacular and well worth a visit. (01593 731308)
