Ballinbreich Castle
One of two castles of the same name - the other is in Moray and never important. It passed through various hands before its stone was ransacked for other buildings. In somewhat derelict and possibly dangerous state
The castle enjoys a striking position overlooking the First of Tay and would have been easily resupplid by sea if required. There is no evidence that the castle played any major role and passed through different hands at different times.

You will need to turn off the A913 onto a minor road just to the east of Newburgh. Follow the coastline and at signs for Autolity, park and walk.
