Blacksmith's Cottage nr Tomintoul - Sleeps 4
On a tranquil rural lane, deep in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, this charming traditional cottage was originally the local blacksmiths and has been sympathetically modernised to a high standard, while retaining the original character and atmosphere. Enjoying open views south over the surrounding countryside, there is a large enclosed garden with seating, patio, barbecue and a small pond. A substantial outhouse provides secure storage for sports equipment etc and has a full size tennis table. Due to the pond and steep stair, care is required with small children and the upstairs rooms are unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands, is 4 miles from here, Grantown-on-Spey is 15 miles and Aviemore is 27 miles. This is the outdoor centre of Scotland for activities including walking, climbing, biking, angling, golf, riding, winter sports, water sports, nature reserves and ornithology. There are castles to explore and malt whisky to taste at numerous distilleries on the Whisky Trail.

First Floor: (accessed by steep loft type stair) 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. All electric plus open fire. Fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, Freeview television, DVD, CD player. Customer Reviews of Blacksmith's Cottage nr Tomintoul - Sleeps 4
"Cosy cottage away from it all"
Really enjoyed our short stay when I stayed with my family. The cottage is well equipped. The kids enjoyed the full size tennis table in the out house. Its fairly remote which makes it lovely and quiet. Tomintoul shops are 10 mins by car. Lovely views over buttercup fields. Cosy and warm, lots of wall heaters ( and a coal fire we didnt need ). Kitchen and bathroom decor is a little tired which might bother someone more fussy than us. Lights in the outhouse needed batteries which made it a bit dark.
