To the north lie the Grampian Mountains, while to the west are the Sidlaw Hills. There are many and varied activities available in the area, good golf is in abundance, as is excellent walking and river fishing.
Or visit Glamis Castle, home of the late Queen Mother, with its fascinating history and Scone Palace, home to the Stone of Destiny and also the base for Perth Racecourse. Nearby Kirriemuir is a pleasant town and famous for being the birthplace of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan. Slightly further afield are the bustling towns of Pitlochry and Aberfeldy.
