This charming thatched property is an original Skye ’Black House’ which has been renovated into a wonderful holiday home. It is a real romantic hideaway.
It is bright and welcoming and nestles in this popular part of the island where the scenery and the sea views to the Hebrides are unsurpassed. Local places of interest are Dunvegan Castle, Flora MacDonald’s grave, a local outdoor activity centre which organises archery, canoeing, walking, cycling courses and at Uig nearby, which is the ferry terminal for the Hebrides, boats can be hired for fishing trips, and there are regular boat trips and bus tours allowing you to experience the spectacular scenery and wildlife on the island.
Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

The scenery is stunning & there are lots of superb walks to do. Thatched Croft was perfect for us, located where we wanted to be in the north of Skye in a tiny ’village’, it has everything you need. It also has a good sized enclosed garden which our dog thoroughly enjoyed. A perfect holiday & a perfect cottage for a couple (plus dog!). July 2011.
4th comment: Excellent for those with dogs, as the property is enclosed, just as well, as there are cows, sheep and pigs quite close by.Ideal for a quiet holiday, although shops only 2 miles away. Terrific walking country with spectacular scenery. May 2011.

The garden is enclosed and ideal for dogs stretching their legs first thing in the morning!! We stayed in November the cottage was lovely and cosy. Thanks from Sarah & Jim and Brodie the black lab.
