This converted barn, one of a pair, is in a courtyard setting and provides an ideal holiday location from which to explore the surrounding area. Telford Cottage is close to the Moffat Hills with the Grey Mare’s Tail, where fossils or birds of prey can be spotted. Horse riding, quad biking and golf are all available locally and Dumfries and Galloway’s 7 Stanes, offering world class mountain biking, is nearby. Fishing rod hire is available in the town for three fishing ponds at the local Hammerlands Centre which also has an adventure play park, animal farm and garden centre. The historic cities of Edinburgh, Carlisle and cosmopolitan Glasgow are easily reached within an hour. The castles and abbeys in the Scottish Borders are easily accessed within 30 minutes as is Dumfries and Galloway with its dramatic coastline, unspoilt villages and home produce. Shop 1 mile, pub 1/2 mile.
