We had special needs little boys with us and they loved the space and coal fire as they had not seen one. Locals very helpful and friendly, lovely town. 13th Comment Was lovely the only downside was the feathers in the sofa that constantly came out, however we did just laugh about it and it was all part of the holiday. You would have to be really picky and fussy to not enjoy Douglas Lodge. Oct 2009

15th Comment Douglas Lodge was a lovely place to stay. We loved it is a lovely town very pretty. We enjoyed The Grey Mare Trail the best , the day we went there it was a sunny day , we also traveled out to a beach in Southerness. Edinburgh is quite far from Moffat but we took a trip there one day. I loved Edinburgh, I loved Scotland altogether. I recommend to go to Scotland at least once in your life time. Sept 2008.

18th Comment My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Douglas Lodge and hope to return soon. The house was very cosy on arrival and once the open fire was roaring, and the complimentary bottle of wine was flowing, we all instantly relaxed. The house is beautiful and sits on a very quiet street with excellent views and yet is only a few minutes walk away from the town centre. I would recommend Douglas Lodge to anyone. Jan 2009.
