South Laggan Cottage, nr Spean Bridge - Sleeps 4
Beautifully situated amidst the stunning scenery of the Great Glen, this charming detached bungalow offers welcoming and peaceful accommodation in a spectacular location. Enjoying wonderful views, the house sits under wooded slopes in a quiet spot on the owner's croft. There are enclosed grassy grounds with garden furniture, backing on to a burbling burn whose Gaelic name translates as the 'Stream of the Fairies'. The house is deceptively spacious, freshly decorated and well appointed with all rooms on the ground floor.
The lovely canal side village of Fort Augustus is 12 miles away and has excellent facilities, there is a local shop at Invergarry and a fascinating floating inn less than a mile away at Laggan Locks where the Caledonian Canal climbs from Loch Lochy to Loch Oich. Unlike most waterways, the canal accommodates sea-going vessels providing unique images from the house windows as boats move slowly through the mountains. This area offers a wealth of activities including walking, biking, sailing (slipway nearby), water sports, climbing, golf, angling and touring this fascinating area.
