Across the road the River Lochy flows down from the Great Glen to meet the tidal waters of Loch Linnhe and beyond the river, Ben Nevis, Scotland's highest mountain, rises from sea level to its 4409 feet peak. There are lovely walks along the shore of the nearby Caledonian Canal and a wealth of local activities including mountain biking, rock climbing, hill walking, golf, angling, riding, water and winter sports.
