Customer Reviews of Goldpan Cottage,Wanlockhead, nr. Sanquhar, sleeps 4
st comment: A delightful cottage tucked away in the rolling hills of southern Scotland. A wonderful place to relax, unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. Village pub very friendly and the beer is good too! Oct 2011.
nd comment: A beautifully well kept cottage, with a lot of character. Clean and tidy inside, and presented with tea, milk and biscuits on arrival. The fire was all set up, ready to light, and the bedrooms were clean and tidy, with towels laid out on the bed in a lovely presentable way. Jan 2011.
rd comment: This cottage was ideal, spotlessly clean and we will definitely be back it was just great. Tthe description of the cottage was spot on - what you see on your web page is what you get. Oct 2010.
th comment: Very small but I do think people must remember that they are staying in a very old miners cottage high up in the mountains. The scenery is beautiful especially with the sheep all around. The atmosphere is wonderful, you can just image the miners coming out of the mine in the valley. Wanlockhead has only 153 residents. The mine trip is well worth a visit. The Churchyard is also very interesting, most of the miners are buried there, especially one called Mr. Taylor who died at the age of 137 years. In the next village (Leadhills) you can go to the bear shop, and the lady there makes teddy bears and names them after the miners. All in all wonderful. July 2010.
th comment: Liked the character of the mountain top village. July 2010.
th comment: Lovely cottage, very clean and well stocked. Aug 2009.
