Customer Reviews of Cogsfoot Cottage,nr. Sanquhar, sleeps 6
st comment: Very comfortable cottage with good fixtures and fittings. If you like to be away from it all but not far from shops etc this is ideal. Car is essential. Kids are catered for with a play area. Dog allowed. Would recommend to friends and family. Sept 2011.
nd comment: Fantastic cottage, the best we have ever stayed in, 2nd time there and will be booking again for next year. Rachel the owner always leaves us a lovely welcome pack. Just wish we didn’t have to leave again! We struggled up the cottage track this year as the area had had a substantial amount of rain beforehand, so next year will take our 4x4, but it’s an adventure! Oct 2011.
rd comment: Lovely and peaceful. It was like home from home with everything that you need. July 2011.
th comment: This was a return visit for us and would not hesitate to recommend Cogsfoot Cottage - a home from home. My 2 year-old grandson had a high old time between the playpark, all the toys in ’his’ bedroom and throwing stones (supervised) into both of the burns bordering the property. Track down to cottage requires care when driving, but it’s worth it. May 2011.
th comment: High standard of fixtures and fittings. Good sized property. Very well equipped. Plenty of space. Superb gardens, completely enclosed. Children’s play park was an excellent feature. Extra special welcoming touches by the owner. Sept 2010.
th comment: The best cottage we have stayed in. Sept 2010.
th comment: This is a very well renovated cottage with plenty of space in the grounds for our dog and more importantly, was very suitable for my 89 year old father in law who has mobility problems. It is in a wonderful location and in an area that teems with wildlife. April 2010.
th comment: The property was in a stunning location, was exceptionally clean and well equipped and was really exactly what we wanted. Oct 2009.
th comment: Excellent cottage, well equipped in beautiful surroundings. A great ’get away from it all’ spot. Oct 2009.
th comment: The property is a farm house that had been renovated to a high standard. Whilst it is isolated and peaceful it is within easy reach of the local town and amities. Although there is a river nearby the gardens are very secure and at no time were we concerned for our children’s safety and could relax and enjoy our holiday. . 11th Comment Excellent house, clean, tidy and well maintained with plenty to do and some great things for the kids. Plus the welcome with the bread and wine and welcome note was fantastic. The best welcome at any cottage we’ve been to. Aug 2009.
th Comment The owners had truly thought of everything, there were toys and videos for the kids and a bottle of wine for us, which was much needed after the long drive! The house was immaculate. We had a fantastic time. Sept 2007.
th Comment Cogsfoot Cottage was an absolute delight - the website and brochure photographs are good but once you are there the property itself is beautiful - set in beautiful countryside, with everything you need and more for a very relaxing peaceful holiday and in easy reach of good local attractions. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property. Aug 2007.
th Comment A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. The children’s play area makes it ideal for a super family holiday. May 2008.
th Comment Wonderful cottage. My boys especially enjoyed the playpark, the lego and the Knex there for them to play with. Aug 2008.
th Comment An excellent property in our opinion, and the personal touches provided by the owners was very much appreciated. Peaceful and quiet it was most relaxing, and the environment was idyllic. Nicely situated for outings to nearby towns and villages it was all and more than we could ask for. An excellent choice from every aspect. Sept 2007.
th Comment Wonderful property, very tranquil setting, real pleasure to stay at. The owners have done a great job renovating this property to a very high standard. Certainly be revisiting for another holiday. Sept 2007.
th Comment A beautiful and isolated house - the house itself is as good as it is shown in the photos, but these don’t do justice at all to the immediate surrounding area, which is simply superb. The gardens are extensive and give easy access to the nearby river and stream, which are a fantastic place for older kids to play when the water levels are low (but fast following very heavy rain). There are also tracks leading straight up into the hills from behind the cottage which are brilliant for both easy and more challenging walks, and the garden and surrounds are a wildlife paradise (the frequently replenished bird tables and feeders encourage an amazing array of birds, plus we saw owls, herons, trout and rabbits). The midges can limit the time you can spend outside in the early morning or early evening, but during the day, the area is an outdoor lovers paradise. July 2008.
th Comment We usually use your company every year for the past 11 years. Each cottage has been good but the standard of Cogsfoot was the best so far. Everything you could want in a kitchen was there. The layout and comfortable and excellent. The owner also left us a bottle of wine and milk, eggs and butter in the fridge as well as a welcome card. Its the little touches that make such a difference. Cogsfoot Cottage was the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve already booked to stay there again next year! Sept 2007.
th Comment Cogsfoot Cottage is truly a place in paradise, the cottage itself was truly amazing, lots of space and extremely comfortable and welcoming! The owners could not be more welcoming and approachable and very very kind, they have thought about everything for adults and children! Truly an amazing place and it made our holiday! Thank you. April 2008.
