This beautifully renovated holiday cottage, attached to the owners’ house, is located in a secluded close in the heart of Kirkcudbright’s historic conservation area, and offers a peaceful retreat, whilst allowing access to all amenities. The cottage is only yards from the impressive ruins of Maclellans Castle. There are many festivals including Scottish Nights, a medieval fair and a spectacular tattoo. Kirkcudbright sits on the edge of the Galloway Hills on the estuary of the River Dee and offers fishing, cycling and golf. Threave Garden and Estate NT is to be a popular attraction. Dumfries (25 miles) and Castle Douglas (8 miles). Swimming pool 400 yards. Shop and pub 300 yards.

2nd comment: This is a wonderful place. Very light spacious and a pleasure to be in. The equipment and fittings are all top quality and give a real five star experience. The owner was very helpful and not at all intrusive - gave a real sense of good quality quiet privacy while being situated in the nicest street in town. I cant praise this one enough. Feb 2012.
