Waternish Peninsula
Remote peninsula standing out from the North of Skye to the NE of Dunvegan.
The road from Edinbane to Dunvegan sweeps past the Waternish Peninsula does not even have a number on many maps although it is the B886. It wends its waya long the west side of the Peninsula past barely perceptable crofting townships until it gets to Stein where suddenly there is a McLeod Terrace and an excellent restaurant. The road is single track with passing places.
There are no shops on the Peninsula and pub and restaurant at Stein. So, come prepared with victuals and supplies for you stay on the

There is not a lot to see in terms of visitor attractions per se, but for wild walking without meeting another, there is nowhere to beat it. A great walk (of too many) is to set out from Halistra and walk up the West coast of the peninsula to Trumpan Church sitting in splendid isolation and site for the Battle of the the Spoiling of the Dyke - story here
