Canna
Canna is the most westerly of the four Small Isles that also include Rum, Muck & Eigg. Canna covers just 3000 acres and with ten working crofts has a population of 20.
Canna is one Scotland's tiny and truly otherworldy spots, lost far from the hurlyburly of life. Ifyou are looking for a place far from the madding crownd, this is the place.
The island has been a bird sanctuary since 1938 and the 157 different species of birds have been monitored annually since 1969. Canna has many sites of archaeological interest, including nine scheduled monuments, and has links to the Neolithic, Columban and Viking eras.
