Description :Tomatin was founded in 1897 by the Tomatin Spey District Distillery Co, then extended to four stills in 1956, six in 1958, ten in 1961, 11 in 1964, and finally 23 in 1974. It uses water from a local burn, the Allt-na-Frithe: the malt is light to medium-bodied, with clean, sweet and slightly gingery flavours. There are tours of the distillery, and a free dram for visitors. The visitor centre features a fully stocked shop and an audio-visual presentation about the process and production of whisky.
