Wilkys Holiday Cottage near Helmsdale - Sleeps 6
Wilkys is a detached stone workman's cottage located inland from the Scottish highland village of Helmsdale on the North East Coast. The cottage is located close to the cross Highland line which must the loneliest railway line in the UK serving the tiny inland communities. The cottage was probably inhabited by early railway workers.
The cottage can sleep six people and has one double bedroom, two twin rooms and a family bathroom. There is a kitchen and a wood paneled sitting room with an open fire.
Outside is off road parking and a walled garden with outdoor furniture.

Three bedrooms: 1 x ground floor king-size double, 2 x twin. Ground floor bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area (seats 4). Utility with WC. Sitting room with open fire.

“The cottage layout has been setup in such a fine way that even as a wheel chair user I was able to access most of the downstairs especially the bathroom with relative ease, whether the owners had this in mind I don't know but apart from the narrow entry doors which required exiting the chair till you get through them the place is very good to get around many thanks to the Wilkinsons for having us pity the Aurora let us down --- maybe next time! Its a very picturesque setting and if like myself you like trains they are as close as you can get, the heating was more than enough and the open fire very warm -- all in all a very pleasurable stay.”

“Wilkys is a spacious, comfortable and well appointed cottage in a small hamlet on the side of a picturesque glen. The neighbours were very friendly and a fountain of local knowledge. It is an ideal spot from which to travel out to discover Caithness and Sutherland. For those who "can't get away from it all" there is Broadband/WiFi at the cottage.”
