A visit inland takes in some of the many distilleries of the Whisky Trail where visitors may wish to sample the Water of Life or take the Castle Trail to explore and learn of the fascinating history of some of Scotlands oldest buildings. Further north, the rugged coastline of Sutherland and Caithness is waiting to be explored, or guests can wander over some of the few remaining unspoilt moorlands in the UK. A day trip to the Orkney Islands is highly recommended with a large variety of archeological sites and wonderful local seafood in the restaurants and pubs.
