This spacious detached holiday cottage is situated only 150 yards from Carradale’s renowned mile long golden sandy beach and has direct access from the rear garden. Boasting spectacular views, the mountains of Arran are a constant backdrop and whales, dolphins and basking shark are regularly seen in the Kilbrannan Sound and the many rock pools are full of seashore life. Carradale and Saddell are great centres for forest walks, a large variety of birdlife can be seen, including the short eared owl and the great spotted woodpecker, or venture into Carradale Glen where the pair of nesting golden eagles may be spotted, or visit the nearby wildlife reserve. Red squirrel and 4 species of deer are also found in this area with Carradale being famous for its herd of wild goats, which roam over the scenic point. An ideal location from which to explore the Kintyre Peninsula, including local landmarks of Skipness Castle, Saddell Castle and Abbey, and Carradales vitrified fort. Other popular activities in the area include golf, riding, cycling, fishing and water sports. Campbeltown close by, offers a range of amenities including cinema, swimming pool, museum, heritage centre, gift shops, galleries and a wide selection of restaurants. Walks are available to Davaar Island to view Archibald MacKinnon’s 1887 cave paintings. Ferries to Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha are within easy reach. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
