Amidst the beautiful Galloway countryside this attractive cottage has been stylishly furnished. Enjoy the quiet village setting with tea rooms, shop and hotels. New Galloway is Scotland’s smallest Royal Burgh and is on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, great for walking, cycling and watching the wildlife. Loch Ken is a leisurely stroll from the cottage and offers sailing, water sports and coarse fishing. At the edge of the village is a 9-hole golf course. Near Laurieston is the Red Kite feeding farm. Travel south to the market town of Castle Douglas with a variety of shops specialising in local produce. Threave Gardens and Castle (NT) are close by. Kirkcudbright is known as the artists town with art, craft and antique shops. Shop and pub 300 yards.

1st comment: The biggest attraction of the property is the location in a little village where you are minutes from the Galloway Forest Park (great for walking) and central for all the areas attractions. Sept 2011.

6th comment: The cottage we rented was ideally situated for us as it is equidistant from 5 mountain biking centers. The cottage is situated in a lovely village. There was a local shop and pub with good food and somewhere to walk our dog. The neighbours are very friendly. May 2009.
