Service good. Large and cold. Remote location good for walking. Great log fire and very atmospheric property. Weather was wet and dull over our visit

"Ideal for that weekend break you're looking for"
A group of friends and myself recently stayed at the cottage just outside Pitlochry. Be warned that if you are using a sat nav, make sure it doesn't lead you up the wrong road! Take the first left after the bridge, not before! We were amazed with the size of the place, every time you open a door it leads to another room, and then another, and then another! Mrs MacLellan greeted us with a roaring fire upon our arrival so after a bite to eat in Pitlochry we all settled in quickly with a couple of drinks. The place was so good that after the distillery tour we decided to stay in for the second evening, cooking a feast for the six of. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances (more than those quoted in the advert) and plenty of space to cook for and feed the twelve that the cottage can host. So if you don't mind stocking up on wood and peat in the mornings (right outside the door), then this is the perfect retreat for the city folk. Quiet for a chance to finish that latest novel, plenty of attractions within a short drive and, best of all, no tv so great for catching up with old mates (or in our case, speaking absolute nonsense) over a couple, and a couple more, drinks. "Great location, fabulous neighbours"
We stayed at the property for my husbands 60th birthday, so we were family and friends together. The house is fantastic, a bit like the tardis with old fashioned charm. The fixtures (particularly the baths - there are no showers), decor and furnishings do need upgrading, however we all personally loved the charm of the place and the neighbours, Ann and her husband are absolutely the best, I don't think we have ever been made to feel more welcome! We will definately go back again

"The kindest hosts, the most comfortable relaxed house"
Clear air and autumnal colours are the thing here and a very generous fire. Such other-worldly experiences, so very different from the city.
