Borders
The Scottish Borders is located just north of Northumberland and Cumbria and shares its borders with Dumfries and Galloway, East Lothian and South Lanarkshire. This region also includes the towns of Galashiels, Selkirk, jedbrough and Peebles and some smaller towns as well. The closer cities being Edinburgh in the North and Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle upon Tyne in the south.
As you can imagine has been many a battle between England and Scotland of the years not recently, and many castles fortresses old buildings can be seen in the area. The region is knowing for producing some mighty fine rugby teams which may be down to the fact that the local farmers are used to carry on cows and their shoulders. There's quite a few activities in the area to choose from including the popular ones like clay pigeon shooting and quad biking and maybe more unusual like falconry. In terms of night-time activities you may find heading into the what of the larger towns or close by cities may be a better option.
Places like Jedbrough have another history including an ancient cathedral
